Tory didn't fit in. He knew he didn't. No-one really wanted to be his friend. He was the class monkey, the one with cooties, no-one wanted to get close to him. If he touched someone, and they didn't freak out instantly, then another one would lean over and scream 'he's got cooties' and then the game would begin, passing the touch on from person to person as if it were some kind of curse. As if he was a leper. Sometimes new students would join the school, and they'd quickly learn not to like him. Last time he'd tried, it had been a Japanese boy, and the other boys had quickly stepped in and separated him. They looked at Tory with anger,
Opal held her head high, staring blankly at soaps and detergents on the opposite shelf. Her mother was tugging the pleated skirt down, her pinching fingers barely touching the soiled material. Opal knew she was wrinkling her nose, staring despairingly at the state of her uniform. It finally came free of her hips and hit the floor with a wet thump, and Opal's eye twitched when she felt something splatter against her leg.
A pinch and a tug at her knee was her instruction to step out of the skirt. Her mother pinched the waist band and lifted it up, inspecting the damage anew now it wasn't a part of a frustrating whole. Opal glanced at her, and
There is an old madhouse, in Catsons Creek.
For a long time, it was abandoned, and supposably haunted.
Stupid youths would break in, having vowed to spend a night there.
They never did. Either they'd get scared and wuss out, or the caretaker would catch them.
Now, it's different. The council got 'talked' into letting someone buy and restore the old building. Half of the building has been turned into a kind of museum. The other half is locked up, with 'personal only' signs, and recrimination for tresspassing.
As for the ghosts? Those inmates-patients that haunted the place?
Well, I and my wife know the truth.
Many of them have been discharg
Requests Open Feel free to make suggestions. :line: I am the kind prone to scribbling on what ever paper I can get my hands on, speaking in random accents, and ad-libbing like a mad banana. My writing tends to depends on sharing it with others, which means pestering people to co-write or review my work, which I am to paranoid to publish. I also happen to be in Australia, but sadly too far into humanised areas to see kangaroos very often.

Still Alive, still struggling with my muse and staying on top of life. Have to get the whole house clean by January, got some work done today.
On the subject of art, I haven't given up on my project. Since I can't really use the scanner a friend of mine left for me, I'm forced to use crappy photos of my handdrawn art. Maybe one day I'll update them with higher quality copies.
